Set display name

Change the name a player shows with in chat and the player list. Colours work; empty resets it.

Try it on your server

A Minecraft element (a step) in Players. Needs the Basic plan or higher to go live; building and testing are free.

Example

When a player joins → If they have the vip permission → Set display name: <gold>[VIP] {player.name}

nickname, nick, display name, rename player, name colour

Works as a data pack?

No. This one needs the Elementium plugin on a Paper server.
