Make read-only
Let @everyone read a channel but not post in it, like an announcements channel the flow just made.
channel.read_only
In a flow
“When a button is clicked, make read-only.”
Create channel #news → Make read-only (Staff can still post).
What it does
Let @everyone read a channel but not post in it, like an announcements channel the flow just made. It's a step: it runs when the white wire reaches it, then the flow carries on from its Then pin. Find it under Channels in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when the flow works with channels: let @everyone read a channel but not post in it, like an announcements channel the flow just made.
When not to
If nothing should change in Discord, a value node or a check is lighter.
Typical wiring
Sockets: settings you can wire
- Channel Channel
-
The channel to change. Leave empty for here: where this happened, or the new place in an "In the new …" branch.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in a channel. e.g. #general
If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, the step runs without it.
