Smooth a list
Smooth a list of numbers by averaging each with its neighbours.
math.moving_average
In a flow
“Works out smooth a list whenever a step wired to it needs the answer.”
[1, 5, 3, 7] window 2 → [1, 3, 4, 5]
What it does
Smooth a list of numbers by averaging each with its neighbours. It's a value node: no white pins, it works out its answer when a step wired to it needs it. It gives 1 value later steps can use. Find it under Values in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when a step needs a value worked out first: smooth a list of numbers by averaging each with its neighbours.
When not to
For a value that never changes, type it into the setting instead of wiring a node.
Typical wiring
Sockets: settings you can wire
- Numbers List
-
The numbers.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in a list. e.g. Hello there, and more like it
If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, the step runs without it.
