In a flow
“When GitHub sends an event, the steps wired after it run.”
When GitHub sends an event → If Kind is push → Send: {trigger.commits} new commits on {trigger.branch}.
What it does
A push, an issue, a pull request or a release on a repository whose webhook points here. Checked with the github_webhook_secret secret (the same text as the webhook's Secret on GitHub). The link is in this trigger's panel. It starts a flow, and gives the steps after it values about what happened. It gives 8 values later steps can use. Find it under Starts when in the palette.
When to use it
Use it to start a flow when GitHub sends an event.
When not to
If the flow should start from a click or a command instead, pick that trigger: a flow has exactly one.
