Distance between points
How far apart two points are: straight-line, in blocks walked (Manhattan), and the horizontal distance. For coordinates and map pins.
math.distance
In a flow
“Works out distance between points whenever a step wired to it needs the answer.”
(0,64,0) to (30,64,40) → 50 blocks
What it does
How far apart two points are: straight-line, in blocks walked (Manhattan), and the horizontal distance. For coordinates and map pins. It's a value node: no white pins, it works out its answer when a step wired to it needs it. It gives 3 values later steps can use. Find it under Values in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when a step needs a value worked out first: how far apart two points are: straight-line, in blocks walked (Manhattan), and the horizontal distance. For coordinates and map pins.
When not to
For a value that never changes, type it into the setting instead of wiring a node.
Typical wiring
Sockets: settings you can wire
- From x Number
-
X of the first point.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in a number. e.g. 42
If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, it uses 0.

- From y Number
-
Y of the first point.
