In a flow
“Works out sliding groups whenever a step wired to it needs the answer.”
[1, 2, 3] by 2
What it does
Overlapping groups of a list: [1, 2, 3, 4] by 2 → [1, 2], [2, 3], [3, 4]. For streaks, comparisons and moving averages. It's a value node: no white pins, it works out its answer when a step wired to it needs it. It gives 2 values later steps can use. Find it under Values in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when a step needs a value worked out first: overlapping groups of a list: [1, 2, 3, 4] by 2 → [1, 2], [2, 3], [3, 4]. For streaks, comparisons and moving averages.
When not to
For a value that never changes, type it into the setting instead of wiring a node.
