Members & roles · Step
Create role
Make a new role.
role.create
In a flow
“When a button is clicked, create role.”
Make a role called {user.name}'s team and give it to them.
What it does
Make a new role. It's a step: it runs when the white wire reaches it, then the flow carries on from its Then pin. It gives 1 value later steps can use. Find it under Members & roles in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when the flow acts on a member: make a new role.
When not to
If nothing should change in Discord, a value node or a check is lighter.
Typical wiring
Sockets: settings you can wire
- Name Text needed
-
The new role's name, like {user.name}'s team. Variables allowed.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in text. e.g. Hello there
If it's empty: Needed. Publish lists it until it's set or wired; the step can't run without it.

Values it gives
- New role Role
-
The role it made. e.g. @Team Sam
If it's empty: Empty when the step didn't make one (it stopped early or was skipped); steps reading it get nothing.
