Server view distance
How far, in chunks, players see terrain and how far the game runs mobs and crops around them.
m.server.view_distance
In a flow
“When a player uses /distance → View distance → Answer: you see {node.d.view} chunks.”
When a player uses /distance → View distance → Answer: you see {node.d.view} chunks.
What it does
How far, in chunks, players see terrain and how far the game runs mobs and crops around them. It's a value node: no white pins, it works out its answer when a step wired to it needs it. It gives 2 values later steps can use. Find it under Server & admin in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when the flow changes the server itself: how far, in chunks, players see terrain and how far the game runs mobs and crops around them.
When not to
For a value that never changes, type it into the setting instead of wiring a node.
Typical wiring
Values it gives
- View distance Number
-
Chunks of terrain sent to each player. e.g. 10
If it's empty: Empty when the step didn't make one (it stopped early or was skipped); steps reading it get nothing.
