Items & inventories · Check
Item name is
Whether an item's name is exactly some text, colours ignored.
m.item.name_is
In a flow
“When a player right-clicks → Item in hand → If Item name is Excalibur → Strike lightning.”
When a player right-clicks → Item in hand → If Item name is Excalibur → Strike lightning.
What it does
Whether an item's name is exactly some text, colours ignored. It's a check: put it in an If, and the flow goes one way when it's true and the other when it isn't. Find it under Items & inventories in the palette.
When to use it
Use it when the flow needs to: whether an item's name is exactly some text, colours ignored.
When not to
To pick between more than two outcomes, Switch or Random reads better than a chain of checks.
Typical wiring
Sockets: settings you can wire
- Item Item
-
The item: wire one in, like Item from Make an item.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in an item. e.g. 3× Diamond
If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, the step runs without it.
- Name Text
-
The name to compare with, colours ignored. Variables allowed; MiniMessage tags like <gold> work.
What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in text. e.g. Hello there
If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, it uses Excalibur.
