Read a game rule

Read a game rule in a world: its value as text, and whether it is on or a number.

Basic plan m.world.gamerule_get

In a flow

“When a player joins → Read a game rule: minecraft:keep_inventory → Answer: {node.v.value}.”

When a player joins → Read a game rule: minecraft:keep_inventory → Answer: {node.v.value}.

What it does

Read a game rule in a world: its value as text, and whether it is on or a number. It's a value node: no white pins, it works out its answer when a step wired to it needs it. It gives 3 values later steps can use. Find it under World & blocks in the palette.

When to use it

Use it when the flow needs to: read a game rule in a world: its value as text, and whether it is on or a number.

When not to

For a value that never changes, type it into the setting instead of wiring a node.

Typical wiring

Sockets: settings you can wire

World Text

The world's name, like world or world_nether. Variables allowed.

What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in text. e.g. Hello there

If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, it uses world.
