World & blocks · Check

Light is below

Whether a location is darker than a level, which is where hostile mobs can spawn.

Basic plan m.world.light_below

In a flow

“When a player moves to another block → If Light is below 8 at their feet → Show an action bar line: It's dark.”

When a player moves to another block → If Light is below 8 at their feet → Show an action bar line: It's dark.

What it does

Whether a location is darker than a level, which is where hostile mobs can spawn. It's a check: put it in an If, and the flow goes one way when it's true and the other when it isn't. Find it under World & blocks in the palette.

When to use it

Use it when the flow needs to: whether a location is darker than a level, which is where hostile mobs can spawn.

When not to

To pick between more than two outcomes, Switch or Random reads better than a chain of checks.

Typical wiring

Sockets: settings you can wire

Where Location

Where: wire a location in, like Location from Player location, or type world x y z.

What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in a location. e.g. world 10.5 64 -3.2

If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, the step runs without it.

Light level Number

True when the light is below this, from 1 to 15. Mobs spawn in the dark.

What goes there: Type it in the side panel, or wire in a number. e.g. 42

If it's empty: Optional. Left empty and unwired, it uses 8.
